Jillian

​Bio​...​

Jillian is a dynamic, award winning dance artist. She can be seen dancing at community events and dance festivals throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. In addition to dancing solo, Jillian is an active member of Almaz Dance Company , 1st Place Troupe at the 2016 Belly Dancer of the Year, {directed by Maria} and was a member of troupe Khamsin, currently inactive, {directed by Sandra}.

Although Jillian happened upon Raqs Sharqi, more commonly know as belly dance, by chance, she felt an instant connection during her very first class. Everything from the music to the costuming spoke to her. She credits her skills and love of the dance, to her inspiring teachers Sandra and Maria. She also enjoys taking workshops to further explore and round out her dance education. ​

 

​Jillian holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from San Jose State, where she focused on painting and printmaking. When not dancing, she can be found working on her fine art at her home studio. Jillian also makes many of her own costumes as well as historical costume recreations.
